Hello Boys and Girls,

Wow, what a week! I went from having no idea about the “Horton Hears A Who”/”Can’t Fight This Feeling” phenomenon, to attending the premiere, with all of the stars, the “Idol” finalists, and my very happy and excited children.

Turns out that Amanda, the rocker chick, is a Midwest girl…born and raised in Indiana. She told me she has been to six REO shows. I had a nice little moment with David, the lefty guitar player dude, who played the awesome version of the Lionel Richie tune last week. The big Australian fella sang the chorus of “Keep On Loving You” right there on the spot, and told me was planning to do that song for 80’s week, but he opted for an INXS rock song at the last minute…it was an Aussie thing.

The whole time I was talking to all of the finalists, my daughter was out of her mind. Holly is a huge “Idol” fan. I do love the fact that I can snuggle up with my kids and watch that show as a family.

Now, I had no idea the whole scene was being videotaped, or that it would be part of the “Idol” telecast, so imagine my surprise when the calls began coming in last Thursday night. Needless to say, my little ones were the stars of their elementary school on Friday…not to mention that I am quite the happening dad…for the moment.

Then, next Thursday, (April 3rd), after “Idol”, yours truly will be on the air again, as the karaoke king for a day on “Don’t Forget The Lyrics”. "Webmaster's note: The air date has been moved up to Thursday, March 27". I can’t really disclose how things went on the show, (it’s a legal thing), but we had a blast, and won a pile of cash for the MusiCares charity.

Our live “Soundstage” performance is awaiting its release date. We are hoping for early June, but there is no definite air date at this time…stay tuned.

The first show with Def Leppard and Styx is next Thursday in Greensboro. We are set and ready to rock. I am looking forward to having a great time with those guys…playing in arenas. After all our music is “arena rock”…right? Hey, as far as we are concerned, our music is anytime, anyplace, anywhere rock. Our recent theater shows have been wonderful. Those old, refurbished venues have so much soul. As I always say, “I don’t care how big or small the room is…as long as it’s full.”

Finally, there is no better day and place to be Irish, than St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago. So I spent St. Paddy’s at home in the Midwest, with my folks. They still live in the house where I grew up. I have become friends with the mayor of my hometown, and we planned a little birthday surprise for my dad. Yesterday, the street they have lived on for over fifty years was renamed in their honor…”Ted and Mille Cronin Way”. It was such a treat to see their faces, as mayor Dave read a proclamation that listed many of their contributions to the community. Very cool.

Okay, I have been Mr. Dad today, and I am beat. My unending respect to all of you beautiful moms out there…you guys definitely have the hardest, and yet most rewarding, job in the world…now, when does that tour start again? ;-)

See you on TV,

KC
